The Obeya CR762 Carbine is a semi-automatic rifle that is one of the three originals, it’s counterparts are the Joker SR315, and the OBIR.

The Obeya CR762 excels in medium to long range combat.

This weapon can send down rounds of fire at long ranges with high accuracy. Similar to the Joker Carbine, this weapon allows a lot of control, but has a slightly slower rate of fire.

Thoughts

It’s one of those “You hit what you aim at” weapons. RNG, or randomness, does not play a big factor in this weapon which makes it very, very consistent. I might use this word a lot, but it also offers a lot of control. You’re not held to any sort of special restriction. You shoot this gun, and you will proceed to hit where you aim. Of course, where it falls short is it’s close range capabilities. Submachine Guns and the Joker Carbine can easily dance around you.

You might be able to put up a small fight, but in most cases, the farther you are, the better.

OBIR

The OBIR is a semi-automatic rifle that is one of the three originals, it’s counterparts are the Obeya CR762, and the Joker SR15 Carbine.

The OBIR is a three-round-burst, medium to long range rifle that has surprising accuracy. The OBIR is not very well equipped in being a strong close ranged weapon. It’s high TTK, or time to kill, at 1.2s, is much higher than average compared to other weapons.

Thoughts

Meh.

I like having freedom. This gun doesn’t offer that much control. The three-burst shot can be either a blessing or a punishment. Benefits I can see are…

  • Off Guard – three round burst can catch people off guard as it melts health in chunks.
  • Accurate – not much crosshair bloom
  • Long range – although, the obeya, or both varieties of the sniper rifles can be more advantageous
  • Two full bursts and the first bullet from the third burst to kill

Although, the negatives, according to me

  • Stick to it’s Range – can’t handle itself quite as well as other weapons in close range
  • Burst Can Work Against You – burst mechanic allows a window frame for enemies to find cover immediately
  • Longer Than Usual – TTK is a little high.

You can be far more disruptive with other guns. Maybe I’m just picking at minor things, and maybe you’ll fall in love with it. This weapon isn’t for me.

I’d prefer an Obeya CR762 over this, but that’s just my own personal preference.

Joker SR15

The Joker SR15 Carbine (slotted versions known as SR115, SR215, and SR315) is a semi-automatic rifle that is one of the three originals, it’s counterparts are the Obeya CR762, and the OBIR.

The Joker Carbine, as it is commonly referred to, is well known for it’s versatility and high skill ceiling. It’s regarded to as a close to medium ranged weapon. The semi-automatic firing rate allows players to have near complete control on where shots will land.

Players who have dedicated time and adapted to the weapon’s mechanics are the most terrifying opposition you’ll ever find. I am really not joking around.

I personally think that a truly skilled player knows how to handle a carbine as part of their skillset.

Thoughts

I should have prefaced this by saying I have a strong bias for this weapon. Despite all the new weapons that come out time to time, I still think it’s still one of the best weapons in APB. The Joker Carbine’s benefits include…

  • High mobility – you can hold your own against Submachine Guns
  • Adjustable rate of fire – allows for higher accuracy and control
  • Elite damage and range – can deal with medium range targets with accuracy, and put up a good fight against closer ranged weapons

Cons include…

  • Previously nerfed – increased the maximum bloom, which lowered it’s accuracy.
  • Limited by it’s range – can’t send back notable damage to longer ranged weapons. utilizing cover efficently

Optimizing Your Firing Rate

The Joker SR15 does require a player to limit their rate of fire, instead of mashing the fire button as fast as you can, because it will actually prevent you to shoot at the maximum fire rate.

Practice slowly firing your weapon against a wall, and then increase the speed until you find the hiccups in where the gun doesn’t fire. Then, reduce your speed and this will allow you to pinpoint that line of efficient rate of fire.

If you previously pressed the left mouse button as fast as you could thinking it’d make the gun fire faster, this will open a whole new world for you. This gun will become much more accurate and predictable for you.
